Ariful Islam
Mr. Islam is the Chairman of IPDC Finance PLC. and a nominated director by Ayesha Abed Foundation. Mr. Islam is also Chairman of the Risk Management Committee of IPDC.
Mr. Islam is a Business Leader with 26 years of experience across Asia Pacific. He joined BRAC University as CFO in December 2020 and currently leads Finance, IT, Procurement, International & Scholarship functions; spearheading sustainable financing for new campus projects as well as modernization of operating systems & IT infrastructure. He has held various senior executive roles with British American Tobacco (BAT) Group across various markets and led the development of new strategic direction & business transformation in priority markets like Japan, Korea & Taiwan.
He also served as an Independent Director & Chairman of the Board Audit Committee of Toshrifa Industries Limited from October 2020 to October 2023.
Mr. Islam completed his B. Sc. (Honors) in Economics from Scottish Church College, University of Calcutta, India and his MBA in Finance from Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. He has also obtained an Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK).
